Authorities Wednesday identified a man who was killed in a shooting that left another man wounded in unincorporated Willowbrook near Compton.

The crime was reported about 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 13700 block of Willowbrook Avenue, said Deputy Kelvin Moody of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

James Brown, 31, of Compton died at the scene, the coroner’s office reported. Another man who also had been shot was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

Detectives were unsure of a motive for the crime. No arrests were reported.
