Los Angeles Rams receiver Robert Woods will probably be sidelined for two games because of an injury to his left shoulder, coach Sean McVay said.
Woods was injured on the final play before the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 24-7 loss to Minnesota when Vikings safety Harrison Smith “tackled him to the ground and his weight came down on him,” McVay said in his regular Monday meeting with reporters at California Lutheran University where the team practices.
Woods leads the Rams with 47 receptions for 703 yards.
Replacing Woods “will really require a kind of by-committee approach,” including “finding ways to get Tavon (Austin) more involved,” McVay said.
Cornerback Kayvon Webster is in the NFL’s concussion protocol, McVay said.
“It seemed like today he was in good shape, so taking steps in the right direction,” McVay said.
Cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman suffered a thigh injury Sunday and will be monitored “as the week progresses,” McVay said.
