An ex-con gangster was being hunted by Pomona police Tuesday after a search-warrant raid found five firearms and illegal high-capacity ammunition magazines at his residence.
Authorities served a search warrant at 32-year-old Johnny Angel Rugeri’s home in the 400 block of East Kingsley Avenue around 9 p.m. Monday, said Pomona Police Cpl. J. Martinez.
“During the service of the search warrant, officers located five loaded firearms inside the residence,” including an illegal assault rifle, Martinez said. “In addition to the firearms, several illegal high-capacity magazines and numerous live ammunition rounds were also recovered.”
Numerous pieces of evidence recovered inside the home identified the suspect as Rugeri, who was not present during the search, Martinez said.
“His whereabouts are currently unknown,” Martinez said. “Rugeri is considered to be armed and dangerous.”
Rugeri is wanted on multiple charges related to being a gang member and felon in possession of a loaded firearm, according to Martinez.
Anyone with information regarding Rugeri’s whereabouts was urged to contact the Pomona Police Department at (909) 620-2085.
