The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Tuesday to its lowest amount since June 1, 2009, decreasing 1.8 cents to $2.744.

The average price has decreased 83 consecutive days, dropping 97.1 cents during the streak, including seven-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak is the longest since a 91-day run of falling prices from Sept. 17-Dec. 16, 2008.

The average price is 13.6 cents less than one week ago, 38.4 cents lower than one month ago and 89.9 cents below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price today dropped today to its lowest amount since May 30, 2009, decreasing 1.7 cents to $2.712.

The Orange County average price has decreased 23 consecutive days and 50 of the past 51, dropping 59.7 cents, including four-tenths of a cent on Monday. It is 13.3 cents less than one week ago, 37.1 cents lower than one month ago and 90.8 cents below what it was one year ago.
