The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell today to its lowest amount since May 29, 2009, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $2.711.
The average price has decreased 86 consecutive days, dropping $1.004 during the streak, including 1.3 cents on both Wednesday and Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The streak is the longest since a 91-day run of falling prices from Sept. 17-Dec. 16, 2008.
The average price is 9.9 cents less than one week ago, 40 cents lower than one month ago and 94.2 cents below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price also dropped today to its lowest amount since May 29, 2009, declining three-tenths of a cent to $2.679.
The Orange County average price has decreased 26 consecutive days and 53 of the past 54, dropping 63 cents, including 1 cent on Thursday.
The Orange County average price is 8.8 cents less than one week ago, 38.8 cents lower than one month ago and 95.4 cents below what it was one year ago.
