Businesses would be able to open past 9 p.m. along Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock, under a change approved by the Los Angeles City Council Wednesday.
If signed by Mayor Eric Garcetti, the business hours of 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. would be lifted along the street, between Eagle Dale and Eagle Vista. The hour restrictions are part of the Colorado Boulevard Specific Plan guidelines that have been in place since 1992.
Councilman Jose Huizar, who represents the area, said the later hours will help “local businesses on Colorado Boulevard to compete directly with nearby cities.”
The increased hours are supported by the Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council, Eagle Rock Chamber of Commerce, The Eagle Rock Association and the Colorado Boulevard Design Review Board, according to Huizar’s office.
