The city of Los Angeles Housing + Community Investment Department announced a name change Friday — to the Los Angeles Housing Department.
The name change comes after the city established a new department, the Community Investment for Families Department, to handle community investment programs that were formerly handled by HCIDLA.
Los Angeles Housing Department will continue HCIDLA’s operations of serving tenants, landlords, developers and stakeholders through affordable housing development and preservation, as well as tenant-landlord regulations and services, officials said.
The department will also continue to run the Housing Opportunities for Persons with HIV/AIDS program and some homeless services oversight operations.
The new name, which comes with a new department logo, will take effect immediately and will be phased in throughout the agency’s programs.
