One person was killed and three others were hurt in a crash between big rig and a vehicle in Oasis, authorities said.

The crash was reported about 2 p.m. at Highway 86 and Johnson Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Officials said a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck crashed into each other, killing one person and leaving three other people with varying degrees of injury — one with serious injuries, one with moderate injuries and one with minor injuries.

Two victims had to be extricated from their vehicle when Cal Fire first arrived on the scene.

All four of the victims were transported to a hospital; two were transported by helicopter and the other two by ground ambulance.

The collision was under investigation by California Highway Patrol.
