A hiker was rescued from a trail in Thermal after suffering a medical emergency Saturday.
Firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department responded to a report of a hiker with a medical emergency at 1:50 p.m. in the Ladder Canyon hiking area.
Due to the remote area, the California Highway Patrol Indio Helicopter 60 hoisted the patient out of the canyon before taking the person to an awaiting ground ambulance.
The patient was taken to a hospital in moderate condition, authorities said.
