An adult man is suing the Los Angeles Unified School District, alleging he was sexually abused as a minor by a teacher at a Sylmar school in 2005-06.

The plaintiff is identified only as John A.J. Doe and the teacher as Giancarlo Corsi of Santa Clarita in the Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit, which alleges negligent supervision of an employee, negligent hiring and retention of an employee and negligent failure to warn.

The plaintiff seeks unspecified damages.

An LAUSD representative could not be immediately reached for comment on the suit brought Friday.

According to Doe’s complaint, Corsi groomed and then sexually abused him multiple times from August 2005 to June 2006 on campus at Harding Street Elementary School, including in the teacher’s classroom.

The district breached its duty to Doe by allegedly failing to supervise the teacher and prevent Doe’s molestation, the suit contends.

“At no time did LAUSD … take any action to restrict Corsi’s access and interaction with minors, including Doe,” the suit states. “In fact, the conduct of the LAUSD … made it a virtual certainty that Doe and other minors would be victimized.”

Corsi continued sexually abusing, molesting and harassing minor students until Doe reported him and the teacher was arrested, the suit states.

Doe has suffered extensive physical, psychological and emotional damage, according to the suit, which further states that the plaintiff did not fully understand what had happened to him until last December when he began having multiple emotional and psychological problems.
