Firefighters extinguished a basement fire in an abandoned home in Santa Ana early Sunday.
The fire was knocked down just before 7 a.m. Sunday, the Orange County Fire Authority reported.
The agency said a rapid search of the building confirmed no one was trapped inside.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
