A 4-year-old colt who had yet to compete in a race has died after suffering a training injury at Los Alamitos, state horse racing officials reported Thursday.

Willy died Thursday, according to the California Horse Racing Board. His type of injury was listed as “musculoskeletal,” but no further information was immediately available.

His last official workout was March 27 at Los Alamitos, according to the industry website Equibase.
