A vegetation fire scorched roughly 30 acres Monday near Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore.
The non-injury fire was reported shortly after 12:40 p.m. Monday near Interstate 15 and Nichols Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said the fire was spreading at a moderate rate but was not threatening any structures. The number three lane of the interstate was temporarily closed.
Additional resources were requested to assist containing the blaze, authorities said.
There was no immediate word about what might have sparked the fire.
