A person was killed Monday morning in a crash on the Golden State (5) Freeway in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The crash was reported at 3:40 a.m. on the southbound Golden State Freeway just north of Main Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP’s online log was not clear about how the person died, Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
The log indicated there was a van on the right shoulder and someone was out of the van.
The CHP issued a Sigalert at 3:59 a.m. shutting down all southbound lanes except the fast lane and diverting all traffic off at Broadway.
One lane was reopened around 5 a.m. and the other two were reopened about 6:55 a.m., according to the CHP.
