Firefighters battled a four-acre brush fire Sunday that burned several outbuildings and palm trees in Desert Hot Springs.
The fire was reported around 7 a.m. Sunday in the area of Bubbling Wells Road and 18th Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
All nearby occupants were safely evacuated, and no injuries were immediately reported, officials said.
Multiple resources, including two water tenders and at least five engines were requested to assist. The fire’s forward progress was stopped around 8:50 a.m.
Southern California Edison was requested to assist with downed power lines.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation, and crews expected to remain on the scene for about four hours. The downed power lines were de-energized by SCE.
