A 17-year-old boy standing in the driveway of a home was killed in a gang-related shooting in La Puente Friday, authorities said.
The victim was with several acquaintances in the 700 block of Millbury Avenue at 11:38 a.m. when two suspects approached on foot and one of them opened fire with a handgun, striking the teen in the upper torso, said Deputy Ryan Rouzan of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Information Bureau.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene, Rouzan said.
“The suspects were last seen driving away in a blue or green vehicle, in an unknown direction,” he said.
Rouzan did not elaborate on why the shooting was believed to be gang- related.
