A missing 70-year-old Sierra Madre woman who was a target of a scam was found safe Thursday.
Enayat Bargen went missing today after scammers posing as IRS officials called and instructed her to withdraw money from her bank and then await instructions where to send the cash or meet with the imposters, authorities said.
Bargen was first contacted at 9 a.m. and left for the bank soon after, but never showed up there, according to Sierra Madre police.
Police announced about 6:20 p.m. that she had been found and was safe, but no immediate details were made available about whether she fell victim to the scam.
