A three-car crash in Yorba Linda sent seven people to area hospitals Thursday.
The crash was reported about 9 a.m. at Yorba Linda Boulevard and Casa Loma Avenue. Witness statements were “conflicting” so far, but investigators suspect one of the drivers ran a red light, Orange County sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock said.
Firefighters had to cut off the roof of a Honda to free four people trapped inside, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi. The driver, a woman in her 60s, and a female passenger in her 70s were taken to UC Irvine Medical Center with injuries considered significant but not life-threatening, the captain said.
A man in his 80s and another female passenger in her 70s were taken to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, Concialdi said, but condition reports were unavailable.
A woman in her late 20s who was in a Jeep was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center, but the extent of her injuries was also unclear.
A woman in her 40s and her 15-year-old son suffered minor injuries, despite being in a car that rolled over, Concialdi said. They were taken to Placentia Linda Hospital.
