An overnight driver’s license and sobriety checkpoint in Lancaster that ended Saturday netted 20 arrests.

The checkpoint was at Avenue K near Elm Avenue. It began at 6 p.m. Friday and ended Saturday at 2 a.m., where 10 unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court, said Capt. Shaun Mathers of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Mathers said one suspect was arrested for a drunken driving warrant, and seven motorists driving with a suspended or revoked were arrested and sent to court.

Also, two motorists were arrested and sent to court for driving on the wrong side of a divided highway and two drivers were cited for having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, he said.

Seven vehicles were impounded for 30 days and three vehicles were stored for one day during the checkpoint, he said.
