An American Airlines jetliner landed safely at Los Angeles International Airport Tuesday after authorities reported a possible mechanical issue.
The Boeing 757-200 jetliner, flight 31, landed safely shortly before 10 a.m., according to a representative of LAX.
Firefighters had been on standby at Runway 25-L as a precaution.
