A martial arts instructor pleaded guilty Thursday to sex- related charges involving three teenage female students.
Derick Lee, 50, of Temple City, was immediately sentenced to three years and eight months in state prison and was ordered by Superior Court Commissioner Wade Olson to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Lee entered his plea to one felony count each of sexual penetration by a foreign object and committing a lewd act on a child and a misdemeanor count of child molesting, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Lee was a martial arts instructor at Elite Kung Fu in El Monte at the time of the crimes, according to Deputy District Attorney Kelsey McKeever- Unger.
He was arrested April 30 after El Monte police received a report that he had made inappropriate physical contact with a juvenile. A follow-up investigation resulted in the identification of two additional victims, police said.
