A driver was shot in his face and his passenger suffered a graze wound to his leg during a car-to-car shooting in Pico Rivera, authorities said Sunday.
Both men are expected to survive their gunshot wounds, said Sgt. Harvey Crosthwaite of the sheriff’s Pico Rivera station.
Crosthwaite said the suspect’s vehicle pulled along side of the victim’s car about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the 10100 block of Whittier Boulevard, where some hand gestures were exchanged and someone inside the suspect’s vehicle fired some shots.
Witnesses described the suspect’s vehicle as a dark blue or black Nissan.
The victim’s car pulled into an Arco gas station at Whittier Boulevard and the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, where paramedics rushed the motorist and his right rear passenger to Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center, according to a county fire department dispatcher.
A front seat passenger escaped injury.
