A woman was fatally stabbed in South Los Angeles on Friday by a male suspect who remains at large, police said.
Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call about 1:25 p.m. in the area of 47th Street and Grand Avenue, said Officer Jane Kim of the Los Angeles Police Department‘s Media Relations Section.
The victim died at the scene, but her name was not immediately available pending positive identification and notification of her next of kin, according to the coroner’s office.
A perimeter was set up as police searched for the suspect, a description of whom was not immediately available, Kim said.
It’s unclear what led to the stabbing.
