Christmas was a lot better holiday for the family of a 12-year-old Long Beach autistic boy with the mental capacity of a 5-year-old who went missing near the Los Angeles River.

The boy was found safe at a Metro train station by sheriff’s deputies early Christmas morning.

Antonio Peter Miramontes was found about 12:30 a.m. Friday at the Los Angeles Pico Metro Station, according to Long Beach police. Miramontes has since been reunited with his family.

There was no indication of foul play, according to the LBPD. The boy’s father told NBC4 that he might have just wanted to watch the trains.

He went missing about 10 a.m. Thursday in the area of Mountain View Street and the Los Angeles River bed, Long Beach police said.
