A Los Angeles Fire Department task force arrived to fight a well-involved blaze in a home in Lomita Tuesday night.
The fire at 1733 W. 257th Street was in a single family dwelling, a block west of the Lomita-Los Angeles border, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department. A bystander had sent in a quick alarm, even though the home was in Lomita.
Heavy smoke and fire were showing when firefighters arrived at 6:43 p.m.
Residents were able to get out of the house without injuries.
County firefighters were able to take over the firefight.
