The coroner’s office Sunday identified the woman who was killed when her car struck the back of a truck traveling south on the Orange (57) Freeway in San Dimas.
She was Christine Soto, 29, of Chino, according to the coroner’s office.
The crash was reported at the Via Verde off-ramp at 1:22 a.m. Saturday, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos.
The woman was driving her 2013 Kia Optima “at an unsafe speed for traffic conditions,” said CHP Officer C. Flores.
“The front end of the Kia collided into the rear end of the Volvo’s pull trailer. After the impact, the Kia continued out of control in a southeasterly direction and the front end collided with the concrete center divider.”
The truck driver, Raymond M. Ladd, 53, of Fresno, was not injured, Flores said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the officer said.
