Pomona police Tuesday asked for the public’s help in figuring out why a 5-year-old boy was struck by a sedan in Pomona.
The child was airlifted to a hospital complaining of pain, but there was no immediate word of his condition. Officials said the driver of the vehicle stopped and there was no word of any possible citation.
Pomona police officers responded at 7:42 p.m. Monday to a call of an incident at Reeves Place, east of San Antonio Avenue, south of the San Bernardino (10) Freeway, Pomona Police Department Sgt. Manny Ramos said.
Officers said they believed the boy walked into the sedan’s path as it was headed west on Reeves Place, Ramos said. But they want more information.
The boy complained he was in pain, Ramos said. The sedan’s driver was not injured, according to Ramos.
An investigation is underway, Ramos said.
Anyone with information about the accident is urged to call the Pomona Police Department’s Traffic Services Bureau at (909) 620-2081 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
