A man was shot after a confrontation in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Rowland Heights and the gunman remains at large, a sheriff’s lieutenant said Friday morning.
The shooting took place about 11:30 p.m. Thursday at Colima and Walnut Hall roads in Rowland Heights on the border with the City of Industry, near the entrance of the Pheasant Ridge apartments, according to LA Sheriff’s Lt. Frank Rivera.
“A man was walking through the parking lot,” Rivera said. “He was approached by another man. Words were exchanged and the second man pulled out a gun and shot the victim in an arm. Then he fled the scene.”
Rivera said investigators don’t yet know what the men were arguing about.
“That was still under investigation,” Rivera said.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of his gunshot wound. At last report he was in stable condition, Rivera added.
Detectives only have a sketchy description of the gunman so far, Rivera said.
