The emergency landing occurred about 6:40 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The plane was a single-engine Beechcraft F33A that experienced engine failure while en route to Cable Airport in Upland from Selma Airport near Fresno, according to Ian Gregor of the Federal Aviation Administration.
The pilot put the plane down near the fairgrounds’ race track grandstand, he said, adding that neither of the two people aboard was seriously injured.
The plane had substantial damage, Gregor said.
