Police Monday were searching for a gunman who brazenly shot two men in their 20s as the victims stood on a street in broad daylight on a peaceful day in South Los Angeles.
The double shooting happened about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, near the intersection of 65th Street and Kansas Avenue, Los Angeles police Sgt. Thomas Bojorquez said.
“A car pulled up and a passenger opened fire,” Bojorquez said. “There were at least two people in the car.”
One man was wounded in the abdomen and was in critical condition, although he had stabilized, the sergeant said. The other man had stable vital signs after suffering a wound to one arm.
No description of the gunman or the car were immediately available, he said.
Anyone with information on this shooting was asked to call the LAPD’s 77th Division at (213) 485-4164. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS. All tips can be made anonymously.
