Deputies Thursday seized more than 16,000 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of more than $50 million and arrested eight people after serving search warrants at two warehouses in Industry.
The 9:30 a.m. raid in the 1100 block of Fullerton Road followed a two- month investigation launched after authorities received a tip of illegal activity, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“A sophisticated indoor marijuana grow operation was discovered at both locations,” according to a sheriff’s statement.
The suspects — 35- to 50-year-old men from San Gabriel and Rowland Heights — were detained pending booking on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana. Their names were not immediately available.
