A woman was found beaten to death inside a Perris home, but no suspects were in custody Friday.

The victim — whose identity was not immediately released — was located Thursday in a residence in the 500 block of Iroquois Road, near Navajo Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Sgt. Ben Ramirez said deputies were called to the location about 3:30 p.m. to investigate reports of a possible dead body in the single-story house and found the woman, but he did not specify how long she may have been there, or whether she was the principal occupant.

Ramirez said the victim suffered “significant injuries,” and sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit detectives secured the house as a murder scene.

There was no mention of potential suspects for whom investigators may be looking.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the homicide team at (951) 955-2777.
