Millard Frazier, 22, of Long Beach died at the scene, the coroner’s office reported.
According to the preliminary investigation, Frazier began arguing with another male, and the pair began fighting. During the fight, an unknown suspect fired multiple gunshots in the backyard area, striking Frazier at least once, Schrader said. It wasn’t immediately clear if the gunman was the man fighting with Frazier.
No description was released of the suspect. It was unknown if the shooting was gang-related, Schrader said. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
