Police shot and fatally wounded a knife-wielding man in Culver City, authorities said.
The officer-involved shooting was reported at 1:47 p.m. Saturday in the 4100 block of Mentone Avenue, Deputy Marvin Crowder of the sheriff’s Information Bureau said.
The man was pronounced dead at a hospital, the coroner’s office confirmed.
“(The) Culver City Police Department responded to an apartment complex on the 10400 block of Culver Boulevard,” Crowder said. “The call was regarding a domestic incident between a brother and sister.”

“Once officers arrived, they contacted the male and the male charged officers with the knife, at which time an officer-involved shooting occurred,” Crowder said.
The 30-year-old man was wounded at least once and died at a hospital, the deputy said. The 27-year-old woman suffered multiple stab wounds to her upper body and was taken to a hospital where she was expected to survive.
Witnesses had reported seeing a bloody woman running down an alley, screaming for help, according to sources at the scene.
A large kitchen knife was recovered, Crowder said, and no other injuries were reported.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives were assisting Culver City Police with the investigation, he said.
