The Woodcrest School in Tarzana will be closed Friday because of a possible threat against the campus.
A posting on the school’s Facebook page Thursday evening told parents to check their emails for an important message.
Parents were advised in the email to tell students that a “plumbing issue” at the school caused the closure, the Los Angeles Times reported.
“Please stay calm and know that our number one priority is the safety of your children,” the email read.
The Los Angeles Police Department received notification of the criminal threat about 5:30 p.m., Officer Mike Lopez told The Times. The nature of the threat was not disclosed.
“We didn’t tell them to close the school, but they decided to, to keep everybody safe,” Lopez said.
The school is at 6043 Tampa Ave.
