A man was killed Tuesday evening in a shooting in the parking lot of a Carl’s Jr. restaurant in Palmdale.

Deputies responded to the 1000 block of Rancho Vista Boulevard about 8:25 p.m. and found the wounded victim, who was taken to a hospital where he died, according to Deputy Marvin Crowder of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

A news photographer at the scene said the shooting occurred in the restaurant’s parking lot and the victim had been shot in the upper body, but authorities could not immediately confirm both reports.

The victim’s name was not disclosed.

A detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available.
