A Verizon store in the Mira Mesa area was robbed at gunpoint Saturday, authorities said.

The armed robbery was reported at 9:07 p.m. at 10754 Westview Parkway, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.

The suspect walked into the store, pointed a gun at the employee, took money from the register and went to the back of the store with that employee, Heims said.

“A short time later, he ran out of the store” Heims said. It was unclear what direction he went.

The amount of loss was not available.
