A 55-year-old pedestrian was taken to a hospital in critical condition Thursday after a car struck him in Pomona.
The man was struck about 1:15 p.m. near the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Dudley Street, according to the Pomona Police Department. Officers arrived to find him unresponsive, lying in a traffic lane.
Paramedics rendered aid and brought the man to a hospital, where he remained in critical condition, police reported.
The driver, Diane Le, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, who do not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision, according to police.
The area around the scene of the collision was closed to traffic for several hours, police reported.
