Firefighters Saturday knocked down a fire at a single-story home in South Los Angeles.

Firefighters dispatched at 6:48 a.m. to the 8000 South Vermont Ave. had the blaze out within 23 minutes of their arrival, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No injuries were reported and the “incident commander requested (an) LAFD arson section for the cause investigation,” Stewart said.
