A 44-year-old Yorba Linda woman is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 25 on an attempted murder charge for slamming a wine bottle over her mother’s head, leaving her battling for her life in a hospital.
Kathleen Marie Gallagherhilliard, who is being held on $1 million bail, is also charged with inflicting injury on an elder adult and assault with a deadly weapon, both felonies.
Gallagherhilliard also faces sentencing enhancements for causing great bodily injury on an elder, the personal use of a deadly weapon.
The victim was helping her daughter move out of her Yorba Linda apartment on Sunday so she could move in with her mother when the two got into a dispute, said Orange County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Dennis Breckner.
Gallagherhilliard at some point felt her mother was threatening her life so she slammed a wine bottle over the victim’s head, sending the victim to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, Breckner said.
