Authorities were investigating a shooting in a residential neighborhood of Eastvale Saturday morning in which a person characterized as a suspect by sheriff’s officials was struck by gunfire.
The shooting happened at about 4 a.m. near the intersection of Alpaca Court and Fuller Ranch Road, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
No deputies were injured in the shooting, but the suspect was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
“Please avoid the area due to lengthy investigation,” the sheriff’s department tweeted just after 10 a.m.
Authorities did not provide further details about the shooting.
