Authorities Wednesday identified a young man who was fatally shot in an apparent gang-related attack as he sat in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the Compton area.
Homicide detectives were sent to the 400 block of West Alondra Boulevard, near Figueroa Street, about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to Deputy Trina Schrader of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Carl Edward Lewis III, 19, of Lynwood died at the scene, according to the coroner’s office and the sheriff’s department. No arrests were reported, and no suspect description was available.
