A woman died in Downey and police investigators were working to learn details, authorities said Monday.
The death was reported at 11:18 p.m. Sunday in the 11600 block of Lakewood Boulevard, said Downey police Sgt. N. Weinrich.
A news videographer at the scene reported it appeared the woman had been shot and drove a car to a home on a Lakewood Boulevard service road where she tried to get help.
But Sgt. Weinrich told City News Service it was not yet clear how the woman died and why she was at that location.
