A 23-year-old Hesperia resident was charged Monday with gunning down a 23-year-old man in Anaheim.

Gilbert Fred Falgo was charged with murder with a sentencing enhancement allegation of using a gun in the attack, according to court records.

His arraignment Monday in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana was postponed until Jan. 13.

Falgo is accused of fatally shooting Mathew David Rawson of Costa Mesa last Tuesday, according to Anaheim police.

Police were called just after 1:30 p.m. last Tuesday to the 2000 block of East Via Burton Street, where officers found Rawson suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Falgo was arrested about 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the San Bernardino County city of Hesperia.

Police did not reveal a motive for the shooting or whether the defendant and victim knew each other.
