At least one person was injured Thursday in a three-alarm blaze involving several residential structures in Fountain Valley.

A mail carrier spotted the blaze about 11 a.m. at 17373 San Luis St., according to a Fountain Valley fire dispatcher. All of the residents escaped, but one person was burned and taken to an area hospital and there may be a second victim, the dispatcher said.

The blaze torched two side-by-side residential structures and a third alarm was called as flames threatened a fourplex to the rear, dispatchers said.

There was no immediate word on what sparked the fire.
