Palm Springs police have not arrested a suspect in a homicide that occurred in the Racquet Club Estates neighborhood in January, although detectives are still working leads, authorities said Tuesday.

The Palm Springs Police Department hosted a brief community meeting over Zoom video conferencing Tuesday afternoon regarding the status of the investigation into the death of Jennifer Dillon, who was found dead Jan. 25 in her home in the 2800 block of Davis Way.

Lt. Erik Larson said detectives have authored several search warrants in the case, and promised police will continue investigating until the killer is found.

“Some of the information has returned on these search warrants and our detectives are going through that information. It is a very lengthy process,” Larson said.

“We have asked a lot of different entities for a lot of information, and sometimes this can take several months.”

In the roughly 15-minute meeting, Police took no questions, and offered few new details in the case, causing some residents to voice their displeasure before the meeting abruptly ended.

The cause of the 59-year-old’s death has not been publicly disclosed, although police previously announced her death had been ruled a homicide by coroner’s officials.

Larson said patrol officers who discovered the victim’s body deemed the circumstances “suspicious,” but offered no additional information regarding why.

The victim’s brother, Tom Dillon, recently offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of his sister’s killer, according to media reports, which sparked renewed chatter about the case on social media.

“Our investigation is ongoing, and it will be ongoing until we find Jenny’s killer and we present the information to the (Riverside County District Attorney’s Office) for criminal prosecution, and we see it all the way through trial,” Larson said.

“We don’t stop until everything is complete.”

Anybody with information about the case urged to call the police department at 760-323-8116.
