A man and a woman accused in an attempted murder that occurred in Burbank in April are in custody, with bail set at $2 million for both suspects, police reported Thursday.

Sunni Kadijah Rasshad-Jahbari, 29, and Amaray Simone Matthews-Egerton, 26, both of Studio City, were arrested Wednesday in connection with a shooting that occurred April 27 in the 4200 block of West Kling Street, according to the Burbank Police Department.

The pair were taken into custody when detectives served a search warrant in the 10000 block of Bluffside Drive in Studio City and were booked on suspicion of attempted murder, police said.

“Burbank police detectives have determined that this incident was not random in nature and that the victim and suspects knew one another,” according to a police statement.

Burbank police Sgt. Emil Brimway declined to release details of the crime, citing a need to protect the victim, but said no other suspects were being sought.
