
Eight Santa Ana men suspected of possessing and distributing child pornography Saturday were awaiting their first court appearances after being arrested following a lengthy investigation, according to Santa Ana police.
The Santa Ana Police Department began the investigation after receiving multiple tips, according to a police statement Friday.
Investigators authorized more than 70 search warrants, 11 of which were served at residences across Santa Ana over the course of a two-day operation.
The arrested men were identified as Carlos Gurrola, 42, Alejandro Bermudez, 26, Jaren Loong, 32, Erick Oropeza, 21, Ismael Ortega, 24, Luis Reyes, 48, Luis Ramirez-Beltran, 29, Nathan Pham, 18.
All of the men were booked into the Santa Ana Jail.
No further details were yet available about the suspects and what, if any, connections they had among themselves.
