A man in his 60s was strangled in Compton Saturday morning, authorities said.
Deputies and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded at 12:50 a.m. to a call of a person down in the area of South Gibson Avenue and East Rose Street and located the victim, according to Deputy Michelle Sanchez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim — whose name will be released pending notification of kin — was pronounced dead at the scene, Sanchez said.
A motive for the strangling or description of a suspect were not available.
