A 55-year-old man was taken into custody Monday following an hours-long standoff with police in Burbank after allegedly pointing a gun at the head of a roommate.
Officers responded at about 6 a.m. to Brian Thomas Lowe’s house in the 1900 block of Richard Street, near Kenneth Road, after receiving a call from the roommate, who was hiding in a bedroom, according to a statement from the Burbank Police Department.
Responding officers removed the roommate from the house before SWAT teams and negotiators arrived.
Authorities deployed a drone to search for Lowe in the house and “continually attempted to engage the suspect through communication,” according to police.
Lowe surrendered after several attempts to communicate and was taken into custody at about 9:15 a.m.
Officers searched the house and found a pellet gun that “resembled an actual firearm,” according to police.
Lowe was booked into the Burbank Police Department jail with bail set at $50,000.
